WHAT ARE OXFORDS? The Newest Shoe Trend!

February 5, 2013 , , , , , , , , ,

Many ask “what are oxfords?”:  Oxford shoes are a lace-up shoe (& returning fashion trend). Traditionally men’s shoes, they are also referred to as Balmorals, brogues or wingtips (depending upon the leather design).  Now, they’ve gone female!  Pastel oxfords, bold colored suede oxfords, metallic oxfords and oh-so-fun multi-tone oxfords are clearly stepping out as this Spring’s hot shoe fashion.  The good news on this?   They’re SO comfortable to wear!

Love these but it’s ironic that the cool trend reminds me of the saddle shoes I wore at Westlake School for Girls for five years!

I know! I used to own these YEARS ago. And just you wait — that 1950s saddle shoe is coming next year in sequin!
